How much does a travelling nanny cost?
Our travelling nanny rate is 3,000 THB per day (8 hours) plus 1,000 THB per day for island-hopping or multi-destination travel. Accommodation and meals for the nanny must be provided by the family during travel days. Please enquire directly for a full quote based on your itinerary.
Can the nanny travel by ferry with us between islands?
Yes. Our travelling nannies are experienced in ferry travel between Koh Samui and Koh Phangan. Your nanny travels with your family as a seamless part of the journey, caring for your children throughout the crossing.
Can the nanny fly with us on domestic flights?
Yes. Our travelling nannies can accompany your family on domestic Thai flights between Bangkok, Koh Samui, Phuket, Chiang Mai and other destinations. Flight costs for the nanny are covered by the family.
Will it always be the same nanny throughout our trip?
Yes. The core benefit of a travelling nanny is continuity. One nanny, your whole trip. Your children build a relationship with a trusted face from day one, making every destination feel safe and settled.
Do we need to provide accommodation for the nanny?
Yes. When your nanny travels with your family, accommodation must be provided. This does not need to be a separate room in every case — please discuss your accommodation setup when you enquire and we will advise on what is practical.
Which destinations does the travelling nanny service cover?
We cover all four of our main locations: Koh Samui, Phuket, Koh Phangan and Chiang Mai. We can also facilitate travel to Bangkok and other destinations in Thailand. Please enquire with your full itinerary.
How far in advance should I book a travelling nanny?
We strongly recommend booking a travelling nanny as early as possible, ideally one to two months before your travel dates. Multi-destination arrangements require more planning and availability is limited.
What happens on travel days — ferries, airports, transfers?
Your nanny is fully present and actively caring for your children during all travel transitions, including airport waits, ferry crossings and road transfers. This is often the most stressful part of family travel and having consistent childcare makes an enormous difference.
Is the travelling nanny service suitable for babies and toddlers?
Yes, and it is particularly valuable for families with very young children. Maintaining consistency of care across different locations and accommodation types is especially important for babies and toddlers who benefit greatly from a familiar carer.
Can a travelling nanny come with us if we are relocating to Thailand?
Yes. Families relocating to Thailand sometimes use our travelling nanny service during the transition period while permanent childcare arrangements are being established. Please enquire directly.
Do travelling nannies have CPR and first-aid certification?
Yes. All nannies, including those on travelling assignments, are certified in Advanced First Aid and CPR. Certifications are regularly renewed and every nanny has undergone a full criminal background check.
Will the nanny need a seat on the ferry or flight?
For ferry crossings your nanny will need a passenger ticket. For domestic flights a seat will be required. All travel costs for the nanny are covered by the family and should be factored into your travel budget.
Can the travelling nanny start in Bangkok?
Yes. Many families begin their Thailand trip in Bangkok before flying south to Koh Samui or Phuket. We can arrange for your nanny to meet your family in Bangkok at the start of your trip.
What is included in the travelling nanny daily rate?
8 hours of active childcare per day plus travel accompaniment. Accommodation and meals for the nanny during the trip must be provided by the family. An additional daily travel supplement of 1,000 THB applies on travel days.
Is a deposit required for a travelling nanny booking?
Yes. A 10% deposit is required to confirm all multi-day bookings including travelling nanny arrangements.
What if our itinerary changes once the trip has started?
Travel with children rarely goes exactly to plan. We understand this and our nannies are flexible and experienced in adapting to changing itineraries. Please keep us informed of any significant changes and we will work with you.
Can we have two nannies for a very long or complex trip?
Please enquire directly if your trip involves a very large family or complex multi-destination itinerary. We will assess what is most practical and make a recommendation.
Are travelling nannies English speaking?
Yes. All nannies are conversational in English, which is especially important during multi-destination travel when clear communication is essential.
What if the nanny or a child becomes unwell during travel?
Our nannies are CPR and first-aid trained and experienced in managing minor illness and discomfort in children during travel. Our management team remains contactable throughout your trip for any support needed.
How is the travelling nanny different from a daily nanny?
A daily nanny is based at your accommodation for a single location stay. A travelling nanny accompanies your family across multiple destinations and hotels, providing continuous and consistent care throughout your entire Thailand trip, not just one location.
Does the nanny need her own passport for travel within Thailand?
For travel within Thailand no passport is required. Your nanny carries her own Thai national ID. For any international travel outside of Thailand, different arrangements would apply — please enquire directly.
What type of accommodation should we provide for the nanny during the trip?
A private room is preferred where possible, ensuring your nanny is rested and able to provide consistent, high-quality care each day. In some villa arrangements a shared space may be suitable — please discuss this with us before your trip begins.
Can the travelling nanny help with packing and unpacking at each location?
Your nanny’s primary role is caring for your children. While she may naturally assist with minor practical tasks around the children — such as packing their bags — this is not a formal part of the service.
How do we handle the nanny’s meals during travel days?
Please factor in providing meals for your nanny during travel days as you would at your villa or hotel. On travel days — ferries, flights, transfers — please ensure your nanny has access to food and refreshments alongside your family.
What is the maximum length of a travelling nanny assignment?
There is no fixed maximum. We have supported families on trips of two weeks and longer. The arrangement is as long as your trip requires. Please enquire with your full itinerary and we will plan accordingly.
Can the travelling nanny start at the airport on arrival in Thailand?
Yes. For families flying directly into Bangkok, Koh Samui, Phuket or Chiang Mai, we can arrange for your nanny to meet you at arrivals, making the transition from airport to accommodation as smooth as possible for your children.
Is the travelling nanny suitable for a babymoon or honeymoon trip with a new baby?
Yes. A travelling nanny is particularly well-suited to couples travelling with a very young baby who want to enjoy their trip while ensuring their newborn is professionally cared for throughout.
